Firecracker Shrimp Rolls

You guys, I really wanted sit down and write this post about the spicy, deep-fried shrimp rolls I made but then I got distracted with a phone app called Pair. Have you ever used it? If not, IT’S GREAT! Great at sucking up all of my time that is. So basically, you pair up with ONE person…and only that person. (If you change your mind and want to pair with someone else, you pretty much have to break up with your pair via the app.) Then when you have your pair, you can send each other private messages, share photos, record short little video clips, send drawings, and…are you ready for this? The San Francisco Street Food Festival

What do San Franciscans love the most? STREET FESTIVALS! (And brunch.) Last weekend was the Street Food Festival in SF where a ton of food trucks and restaurants come and dish out delicious food. It was great because each booth generally had a small item ($3), a larger dish ($8), and and drink ($3) making it pretty easy to try a good amount of food between a small group of people. The food? Delicious. Weekends like this one make me appreciate San Francisco more than I already do. Pro Tip: Get there early. The lines get crazy! And bring friends so you can try their food. This festival was also filled with adorable dogs and babies galore. Major bonus. Happy housemates. Not so happy funnel cake. Oops… Such an awesome way to spend an afternoon. Stuffing my face. My laptop is at the Apple Store getting fixed, and it feels like I’m missing a limb! Hopefully, I’ll be back in action by the end of the week. Panzanella with Tomatoes, Cucumber, and Pickled Red Onion

Panzanella…this summer salad is a keeper! I mean, honestly, what’s not to love about a salad where one of the main ingredients is…bread?! Yes, this is my type of salad. It’s perfect on a hot day or as a quick and delicious meal. I kept it very simple, and I really enjoyed the outcome. Fresh ingredients are key to this dish! And the croutons? I absolutely love homemade croutons. You probably didn’t know that. Or have to know that. But now you do. Homemade croutons really are glorious, and I may sound like a crouton snob when I say this…but once you’ve tried homemade croutons, you’ll never want to buy croutons from the store again! Unless they’re from The Nugget…I approve of The Nugget’s croutons (but only the ones in bags by the salad bar!). I ate those all through college. Homemade (Thai) Sweet Chili Sauce

  You know that sauce that you want to slather on everything? That’s this Thai Sweet Chili Sauce. It’s the perfect dip for freshly fried egg rolls and wontons. I also like to add a little bit when I’m making stir fry or cooking up some chicken. One of my favorite dishes to eat with this sauce? Deep fried tofu. OHHHH, man. That’s some good stuff right there. I am use to buying sweet chili sauce in a bottle but when I saw multiple recipes pop up on Pinterest about making it at home, I was so intrigued! Then I found Picture the Recipe’s version and read it. Wait…I don’t have to go find exotic red chilies AND I already have all of the ingredients in my pantry? Seemed to good to be true!!
