Easy Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict with Blender Hollandaise Sauce

Yep, it’s true. Hollandaise sauce. In a blender. 6 simple ingredients. How easy is that? And 15-20 minutes to make eggs benedict. YEP! This is seriously one of my favorite brunch dishes and something that I use to order almost every time I saw it on the menu. I’d get it because it was a dish I couldn’t make on my own…well, now I can! And you can too. *fist bump* Remember when I told you that I’m still a broke post-college student trying to make it in San Francisco? Yeah, that lifestyle is major inspiration for making these random, quick and easy creations :) Breakfast on the cheap and tasty. Then you can spend the rest of your morning reading a good book or drinking mimosas with friends (if that’s your thing!). Oh, you could also make this green monster smoothie to go with your breakfast/brunch! So grab these [Continue Reading...]

Chocolate Chip Banana Pancakes

HI! It’s been a while. I know, I know, I know. This new year has been really busy but full of fun! Meaning I’ve really dropped the ball on getting some blog posts up. The weather has also been surprisingly nice in San Francisco so I’ve been finding myself outside a lot on the weekends, leaving less and less time to cook. Oops! Also, I recently looked at my credit card statement and realized just how much I’ve been spending on eating out. Wowza! Oops again. But hey, sometimes it’s just nice being able to head out with friends and  grab an order of eggs benedict with smoked salmon and a bottomless coffee, right? Sadly, this spending habit wasn’t sustainable (can someone send me endless amounts of money for food please?) so I realized I had to get back in the kitchen. I decided to make a weekend breakfast and am [Continue Reading...]

Bacon, Spinach, and Eggs Breakfast Pizza with a Polenta Crust

One of my favorite meals of all time is brunch. For some reason, brunch just calls to me. Perhaps it’s because you’re free to eat breakfast well into the early afternoon, multiple variations of eggs benedict are abundant on the menu, or the fact that bloody marys and/or mimosas are encouraged during this meal. Oh yeah, let’s not forget that it’s also shared with family and friends and best to go when it’s sunny and warm outside so you can wear awesome sunglasses while you indulge in a huge stack of pancakes and a large side of potatoes and bacon. On occasion, I even deem it necessary to order a large strawberry milkshake with my meal too…which is totally appropriate at brunch. You can’t do that for breakfast. And you can’t eat scrambled eggs for dinner. Now do you see why I am head over heels for brunch?! It’s the [Continue Reading...]

Brooklyn: Brunch, Brooklyn Flea, Coffee, and Wonderful Company

Our final stop before the end of our East Coast trip was Brooklyn, NY. We bused back to Manhattan from Boston so we could fly out of JFK later that day. To my most delightful surprise, I was able to meet up with one of my closest friends from high school who currently lives in Brooklyn! It was seriously one of the best gifts of the entire trip! We didn’t waste a second and headed straight to the Brooklyn Public House for brunch. When I say brunch, I am understating the quaint atmosphere and savory food that makes up the Brooklyn Public House. We soaked up the sunny day by taking the table with the window bench and ordering three types of eggs benedict! To my further amazement, our dishes included a complementary mimosa or bloody mary with our meal (I have yet to find a place in California that offers [Continue Reading...]
