Blackberry Mint Spritzer

This week was a two dinners in one night kind of week. Literally. Pad Thai at 5:30pm and then 3 amazingly delicious pizzas (split between 9 of us) around 9pm on a Wednesday night. I mean, my co-workers and I were hanging out in North Beach and since that neighborhood is the home of Little Italy, we had to check out Tony’s Pizza. I don’t regret a thing. And yeah, my co-workers love food as much as I do!  It’s awesome. This week I watched the Great Gatsby! That soundtrack is…wack. I mean it’s good, but it’s weird. Jay-Z produced it? I can tell. Overall, I liked the movie though. There were a few scenes that didn’t fit but it was a good movie! Now when I see a pic of Leo I can’t imagine him without his Jay Gatsby accent…old sport. This week we also saw Guy Fieri at [Continue Reading...]

The FB Cookie Swap: Cranberry Hazelnut Cookies Drizzled with Chocolate

Exactly one year ago, I posted my gingersnaps with chai icing and crystalized ginger for the 2011 Great Food Blogger Cookie Swap.  Time has really flown by and I’m happy to be participating in the cookie swap once again! One of my favorite things about this event (hosted by Love and Olive Oil and The Little Kitchen) is that thousands of cookies are flying in the air all at once! It’s an amazing thought if you think about it. This year, we were also required to donate $4 to Cookies for Kids’ Cancer  upon sign up which I think is a great idea! What’s even better is that OXO is going to match the amount raised. :) I also received 3 dozen cookies in return! Thanks Brigitt from cook With B for the Black and White Cookies, Christina from The Dough Will Rise Again for the chewy ginger sparklers, and Karla from Forty Cakes for [Continue Reading...]

Recap: Foodbuzz Festival 2012

Hi friends :) It’s been a few weeks! This post was suppose to go out about 2 weeks ago but then the SF Giants won the World Series! Needless to say I got distracted and this post was put on hold…Go Giants! Anyway, 3 weekends ago, Dailybuzz Food (formerly Foodbuzz) hosted the 4th Annual Foodbuzz Fest in San Francisco. Bloggers from all over the country flew out to California to meet other bloggers, explore the city, and eat! This event is really like Christmas for bloggers. Warning: This particular post is a little long but the event was just so amazing that I had to share details! Friday – October 19, 2012 The event started on a Friday night. We all checked in at the Sir Francis Drake Hotel and then headed up to the 21st floor around 5pm to enjoy a cocktail reception. There I got to meet a bunch of bloggers [Continue Reading...]

Backpacking in Big Sur

Living in California is truly amazing. Last Saturday, my friends and I hopped in the car at 6am and drove a few hours down the coast to Big Sur for the weekend. We dropped in at Bottchers Gap and hiked down a road to Boy Scout camp. The camp area wasn’t being used but we got to see where all the boy scouts stay when they visit Big Sur! Very cool. Then we followed the Little Sur trail to make our way to our campsite. The surrounding was unreal. So green and lush! The trail was a little challenging due to fallen trees from a big fire that happened a while ago but it was actually a lot of fun hopping over tree trunks and pushing branches aside. Sometimes the redwood trunks were so big we had to help each other get over them or even throw our packs to [Continue Reading...]
